Why did I create this blog?

God willing, sometime in September of this year, I will begin a 800 km pilgrimage across northern Spain. (The dates have not yet been finalized.) I will follow the ancient medieval route called the Camino Frances from the border of France in the Pyrenees near Roncesvalles and will stumble into Santiago de Campostella some 35-40 days later. My flight will leave Montgomery around noon and will land in Madrid early in the morning of the next day. I will make it to Roncesvalles around 7 PM. I begin my walk the next day- my pilgrimage will begin when I leave my house in Montgomery. After three weeks, I will interrupt my pilgrimage to return to Madrid to pick up my wife, Avis, to walk the last 100 km. together. This blog has been created to document the journey for family and friends.
